Pineda <br />Oak Creek, CO 80467 Director <br />RE: Twentymile Coal Company, Permit C-82-056 <br />1" Quarter 2010 Discharge Monitoring Report Review (Permit CO-0027154, CO- <br />0036684, COG-850051, CO-0042161) <br />February and March 2010 Discharge Monitoring Report Review (Permit COG-073311) <br />Dear Mr. Watterson, <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS) has reviewed and found the <br />above referenced reports to be in compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2). The 1St quarter 2010 Discharge <br />Monitoring Reports for the above referenced CDPS Permits were received by the Division on 03 May <br />2010; the reports cover the time period from O1 January 2010 through 31 March 2010. <br />Permit CO-0027154 - Only outfalls 005A/MON5/005W (Pond D), 003A (Pond B) and 006A (Pond E) <br />discharged during the first quarter 2010. No exceedances of any compliance criteria were noted during <br />the month. Outfalls 002A, 004A, 007A, 007W, MON7, and 008A did not discharge during the month <br />noted. <br />Permit CO-0036684 - Outfalls 001 A/001 W/MON1 (Site 62) did not flow during the quarter <br />Permit COG-850051 - Outfalls 001/OOW (6MN Pond) did not discharge during the quarter <br />Permit CO-0042161 - Outfall 002A (sites 300E and 3001) discharged during the quarter with no <br />exceedance noted. Outfalls 001 A/001 W/MON 1 (site 115) did not discharge during the quarter. <br />Permit COG-073311 - Outfall OOIA (Fish Creek Construction Crossing) discharged during the month <br />of March 2010. Two exceedances were noted relating to TSS. <br />It is noted that based on a Memorandum of Understanding between the Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety and the Water Quality Control Division (WQCD), the WQCD will be responsible <br />for enforcing CDPS permit conditions including exceedances of TSS. <br />Office of Office of <br />Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
