contained incorrect information. Therefore, the notice is in error and a correct notice must be re-
posted in accordance with the requirements of Rule 1.6.2(1)(b). The Applicant must provide a new
affidavit that the corrected notice has been posted.
Exhibit B, Site Description, Rule 6.3.2
4. The application indicates that mill tailings will be piped to undisclosed locations in the
underground workings for disposal. The application affirms that the underground workings are
flooded. Therefore, the mine pool, a man-made aquifer, might receive drainage directly from the
affected land. Pursuant to Rule 6.3.2(c), please describe the underground workings and mine
pool, detailing the extent of flooding and elevation of the water table. Please submit plans for a
comprehensive spring and seep survey, as necessary to reasonably locate, characterize and
monitor all potential discharges from the mine pool to surface.
5. Pursuant to Rule 6.3.2(c), please describe the underground relationship between the Idaho Mine
and the May Day Mine, specifically addressing any hydrologic connection, man-made or otherwise.
6. Little Deadwood Creek receives drainage directly from the affected lands. Please provide the
information required by Rule 6.3.2(c) for Little Deadwood Creek.
Exhibit C, Mining Plan, Rule 6.3.3
7. Section 6.3.3(1)(b) of the application indicates that topsoil will be borrowed from undisclosed
locations and stockpiled for reclamation purposes. The location of stockpiled topsoil is shown on
Figure E-5. Exhibit D commits to topsoil replacement at six inch depth. Pursuant to Rule 6.3.3(1)
and 6.3.5(2)(c), please delineate the topsoil borrow locations on the Mine Plan Map. Please note
that topsoil borrow locations are affected land, must be located within the permit area and must
be addressed by the reclamation plan.
8. Pursuant to Rule 6.3.3(1)(e), major components of the mining operation must be described in the
mine plan and located on Exhibit E - Map. Exhibit E-3 of the application appears to incorrectly
locate the portal at Level 2, shows only one of the two portals at Level 1, does not show the
location of the mill facility at Level 1, and does not locate the portal at Level 3. The Level 2 portal
is located on the east side of Little Deadwood Creek but is incorrectly located on the west side of
the creek on Exhibits E-3 and E-7. Please submit new Exhibits E-3 and E-7, which correctly locate
all major components of the mining operation.
9. The color shading of the permit areas on the maps interferes with detail viewing. Please eliminate
the color shading of the permit areas on the maps.
10. Underground openings, for ventilation purposes, are not discussed in the plan or located on the
map. If there are no underground openings for ventilation, other than the portals, please state
such. Otherwise, please discuss these openings in the text and show their locations on the maps
as required under Rule 6.3.3(1)(e).
3
