Climax Molybdenum
.17 A Freeport-McMoRan Company
April 28, 2010
HAND DELIVERED
Attn: Allen Sorenson P-"'-
State of Colorado
Division of Reclamation, Mining and SafetyR 2 ????
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215 DfAsion of RvcWrtaiaa,
Denver, CO 80203 -?v Lift $Rd ty
RE: Henderson Operations, Permit No.M-1977-342, Amendment to Amendment-06
Dear Mr. Sorenson:
Henderson Operations (Henderson) submitted an application packet for Amendment - 06 (AM-
06) to its mining and reclamation permit on February 20, 2007. This application serves as an
addendum to AM-06 by providing documentation of USFS correspondence concerning Legal
Right-To-Enter and further provides a final map clarifying final proposed affected land area for
the Henderson Mill facility under this Amendment.
The proposed affected land has increased to 4117 acres because of the following reasons:
1. Using updated mapping technology, the corrected Affected Land boundary increases the
total affected acres to 4117 acres by the gross addition of 568 acres of additional buffer
space and topsoil storage areas at the mill site;
2. Delete 2 acres that encompass the Xcel Energy easement from the new total Affected
Land; and
3. Include 1 acre of affected land (subsidence) adjacent to the mill portal (USFS Legal
Right-To-Enter). The proposed changes will not change the existing land use or the
present mining or milling operations at Henderson.
The Application Packet and two copies are attached for submittal to the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety. If you require additional information or have any questions regarding this
application, please do not hesitate to call me at 303-569-3221 x 1539.
Sincerely,
William Katz
Sr. Environmental Engineer
