EXHIBIT J <br />VEGETATION INFORMATION <br />The Spring Creek Gravel Pit is located primarily in NRCS Map Unit 91 where native <br />vegetation is mainly sparse shrubs and grasses with some pinyon and juniper trees. The <br />potential plant community on this unit is mainly some pinyon and juniper trees with <br />Indian ricegrass, beardless wheatgrass, prairie junegrass, low rabbitbrush and some forbs. <br />Many areas have stands of pinyon and juniper trees, and other areas are nearly barren, <br />The average annual production of air-dry vegetation is about 100 pounds per acre. <br />The remainder of the Spring Creek Gravel Pit is located in NRCS Map Unit 41 where <br />native vegetation is mainly low shrubs and grasses. The potential plant community on <br />this unit is mainly basin wildrye, western wheatgrass, streambank wheatgrass, <br />bluegrasses and big sagebrush. Smaller amounts of rubber rabbitbrush, fourwing <br />saltbrush, and bottlebrush squirreltail commonly are also present in the potential plant <br />community. The production of forage is limited by a short growing season. The average <br />annual production of air-dry vegetation is about 2,000 pounds per acre. <br />22
