Larimer Pit (M-1974-069, AM-2)
Reclamation Release
April 23, 2010
Parcel Location and Description of Land to Remain in Permitted Mining Boundary
LRM would like to revise the Larimer Pit permit boundary to include the property between
Namaqua Rd and Wilson Ave as outlined on Figure 2. This area includes 7 ground water ponds
augmented through Cases W7412 and OOCW142 and labeled 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 14 on Figure 2.
This area also includes Cells 8 and 10 (pit 18 and 20), the last two remaining cells to be mined.
The batch plant, repair shop, and a rental property are also within this new boundary.
The revised boundary encompasses 228.5 acres, however within this boundary less than 10
acres remain to be mined at Cells 8 and 10 (pits 18 and 20), with final reclamation of the Inert
Fill Area (pit 8) and continued reclamation at settling ponds 5 and 6 occurring concurrently with
mining and continued concrete production. The site has been reclaimed and maintained
concurrently with mining over the years, so the grass around pits 1, 2, and 7, has matured and
is self sustaining.
The industrial activities associated with the batch plant operations, the remaining mining, and
the settling ponds are concentrated within just 88 acres of the revised boundary. LRM intends
to continue operating the batch plant after mining is complete at this site.
SUMMARY OF AREA INCLUDED IN REVISED MINING BOUNDARY
Description Ponds Owner Other Information Augmentation
228.85 acres south of Big Pit 1 Loveland Ready Mix Larimer County Parcel LRM
Barnes Ditch, east of 8.03 acres, Concrete, Inc.
