0 EXHIBIT D -RECLAMATION PLAN AND TIMETABLE
1. General Reclamation Plan
The Soderquist Pit will be reclaimed to a rangeland terrace similar to the pre-mine conditions of the site.
All of the slopes on site will be reclaimed to 3H:1 V or shallower to encourage quality revegetation. As
noted in the original 110 permit, there is a lack of substantial topsoil available on this site. Pit run from
screening or crushing operations might be used to backfill when possible, but it is not planned for. It is
anticipated that all backfill will have to be subsoil material imported from off-site.
Topsoil will be placed on all disturbed areas of the Soderquist pit to a depth of 8 inches. Any topsoil
stripped from the undisturbed areas to the west of the current disturbance will be stockpiled in the mined
out areas on the east side of the pit. Negligible amounts of soil are expected to be encountered over the
course of mining. Therefore, the reclamation plan anticipates importing topsoil for reclamation.
Backfill material will be necessary to establish the 3H:1 V reclaimed slopes. It is anticipated that this
material will come from Montrose County property located in Section 1, Township 47N, Range 6W
and/or export of materials from nearby operations and excavations.
2. Worst Case Reclamation Costs
The worst case reclamation scenario will occur when the entire site is mined out. Reclamation at this
point will require the importing of a sizeable amount of subsoil and topsoil material to reclaim the site to
3H:1 V slopes and topsoil to a depth of 8 inches. Finally, the site will have to be seeded and mulched to
achieve the post mine vegetation of rangeland.
0 Soderquist Pit March 10 12
