5. Soils <br />Soils are thin and average stripping depth is 6 inches. The predominant soil types on site area: <br />901 - Haplic Torriarents (gravel pits) <br />940 - Thelma-Jansend-Karing complex <br />960 - Typic Haplustolls <br />986 - Mudcap-Slicktop complex <br />All soils information can be found in Appendix B - Soils. <br />6. Vegetation <br />The predominant pre-mine vegetation community is dry rangeland with considerable cover of grass <br />species and sagebrush. <br />Mostly weedy grass species are present on site in the undisturbed areas. The area being added to the <br />permit with this amendment is covered mostly with species such as the quakgrass, Kentucky bluegrass, <br />foxtail barley, and other similar grasses. <br />The area on the north side of the permit contains some pinyon and juniper trees. <br />0 Soderquist Pit March 10 5
