a. During the initial five-year permit term, the surface facilities will be constructed and <br />continuous miners will be used to extend the mains from the portals in a northwest- <br />southeast direction, and begin development of four entry sections. Continuous miners <br />will be used for both mine development and coal production beginning at the mine <br />portals and extending to the south to the four continuous miner sections. Production is <br />not expected to exceed 2 MTPY while continuous miner sections are being developed. <br />b. For this development method, the newly exposed roof will be supported in accordance <br />with an approved MSHA Roof Control Plan incorporating full roof bolting and additional <br />support materials, as required by local conditions. Coal will be loaded from the working <br />face by continuous miners into shuttle cars which will transport the coal to conveyor belt <br />loading points. Conveyor belts will then transport the coal to the surface coal handling <br />facilities. <br />c. The equipment to be used at the PSCM operation during the initial permit term will be <br />limited to continuous mining equipment. <br />2. Estimated amount of overburden to be stripped: 670,000 cy <br />• By Phase: <br />- Maximum Depth: 81 ft <br />- Average Depth: 33 ft <br />- Total Yardage: 670,000 cy <br />c. Maximum amount of product to be stockpiled at any one time: 330,000 cy (5 acres, <br />40' high) <br />d. Maximum area to be disturbed at any one time including stripping, stockpiles, <br />processing, roads, etc.: 275.4 acres <br />e. Method of extraction: Portal Excavation - Truck and Shovel, Coal - underground <br />continuous miner <br />f. Months of operation during each year: 12 <br />g. Hours of operation: 24 <br />-12-
