Ill. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during
the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the
facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
used for stockpiling refuse material over the winter. Scott noted that the surface leasees had recently
moved sheep off the permit area. He said that there had been a lot of sheep on Refuse Pile 1.
Observation of the vegetation on Refuse Pile I found that while it had been grazed, apparently, the
animals were not left in this area too long. The vegetation appeared in good condition and not too tom
up. No problems were noted with the refuse piles.
Support Facilities: B Vent Shaft#3 is still being sealed around the annulus. The pad still needs final
dressing up, the topsoil stockpile on the pad will need shaping and to be stabilized and signed. Due to
the current activities at this pad, these items are considered regular maintenance.
Degas vent pads; LWB9-3, LWB 10-4 LWB 11-4, Nitrogen wells; N8-12, N9-12, and SC-HG1 I were
observed. The boreholes drilled in 2009 still need shaping up of the pads. There was no evidence of
discharge off these pads, but shaping and stabilizing these pads is still needed. (LWB 11-4, N9-12, and
B-Vent Shaft No. 3 pad). BME did not complete B-Vent Shaft No.2. BME needs to document how the
initial borehole of B-Vent Shaft No. 2 was abandoned and provide this to the Division.
Wildlife: A pair of Osprey were observed near the Raw Water Lagoon. This pair have a nest on one of
the power poles near the lagoon. This nest was constructed well after construction of the raw water
lagoon. The installation of the concrete vault and piping will be of limited duration.
a'u"
Precast segrnents of sump vault ® Raw water Lagoon ..........Osprey on nest near raw water lagoon.
4 of 5 WHITE-File YELLOW-Operator PINK-Specialist
