Pitch Reclamation Project <br />Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board <br />2009 Annual <br />Reclamation Report <br />7.0 MONITORING & RECLAMATION ACTIVITIES PLANNED FOR 2010 <br />In addition to the continued monitoring of pit slope stability and water quality, <br />Homestake continues to move forward with final closure and reclamation of the Pitch <br />property. During 2010, the following activities are planned: <br />• Continue to monitor the Tie Camp Creek Disposal Cell for depressions <br />where water could pond, and manage the drainage off and around the cell. If <br />needed, perform supplemental scarification and seeding with a similar mix <br />used for revegetation throughout the property; <br />• Planting of tree seedlings on the face of the Indian Creek Waste Rock <br />Disposal area; <br />• Continue to monitor the reclamation work on the constructed wetlands <br />located in the drainage area in the vicinity of the former RTP including <br />placement of additional organic material (e.g. peat) and other enhancement <br />activities to further promote sediment control; <br />• Monitor the drainage channels on the east and south walls of the North Pit <br />and the east wall of the South Pit and in other areas throughout the property <br />and make improvements as necessary; <br />• Continued noxious weed control management; <br />• Conduct monthly and quarterly monitoring and reporting pursuant to the <br />CDPS permit at the POC SW-33 for water releases; <br />• Conduct annual surveys of the slope monitoring monuments and <br />inclinometers; <br />• Inspect and monitor waste rock dumps and sediment control embankment; <br />and <br />• Continue to evaluate and remedy where possible any blockage in the <br />piezometers in the Indian Creek waste rock dump. <br />• <br />17
