Martin
Executive Director
The Division has reviewed the adequacy response submittal dated April 9, 2010. We find that
all of the adequacy concerns identified in our PAR letter of April 8, 2010 were adequately
resolved, with the exception of Adequacy Item #5, summarized here below.
5. In this item, the Division requested that the Wadge Underburden well located upgradient
of mining [YWU 16] not be abandoned at this time but rather be included with the list to
suspend monitoring until final bond release. The subject narrative listing was on page
32 and 33 of the text.
In the response submittal, we note that the narrative was properly revised to remove the
subject well from the list of wells to be abandoned. However, the narrative was not
revised to list Well YWU 16 on the list of wells for which monitoring will be suspended.
Please insert the following into the listing of wells for which monitoring will be
suspended, on narrative page 32:
Well YWU 16 (Old USGS Well). This Wadge Underburden Well is
upgradient of mining, is often dry, but never had more than 6.4 feet
of water in it.
Please contact m f you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Daniel T.
