BOX 187 Director
Craig, CO 81626
RE: Trapper Mining, Inc., 2009 Annual Reclamation Report, TR-107, Adequacy Review
Responses
Dear Mr. Roberts,
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division) have reviewed Trapper Mining
Inc.'s responses to items which the Division found inadequate under a cover letter dated March 18,
2010. The Division's review of responses to the adequacy of Trapper Mining Inc.'s application for
technical revision No. 107 indicates that all items required by rule 2.08.4(5) have been submitted.
Please see comments below.
The cover sheet for the 2009 Annual reclamation report lists the Acres Disturbed for the 2009
reporting year as 153.7 for a Cumulative Total of 3,442.3. However, in Section 1.2.1 and Table
1.1 the disturbed acres for 2009 were 155.4 which would be a Cumulative Total of 3,444.
Please address this discrepancy in acres disturbed in 2009. If the totals are conflicting, please
provide replacement pages that reflect the correct total of disturbed acres for 2009.
Item Resolved.
2. According to the Acres Backfilled and Graded and the Acres Topsoiled, Last Year's
Cumulative Total (2008) is represented as 1,070.9 acres. This number is different than the final
Cumulative Total of 1,072.6 acres represented on the 2008 Annual Reclamation Report.
Please address this discrepancy in the acres reclaimed in 2009. If the totals are conflicting,
please provide replacement pages that reflect the correct total of backfilled, graded and
topsoiled acres for 2009.
Item Resolved.
Based on responses to the Divisions comments in a letter dated April 7, 2010 the Division understands
that Trapper mine disturbed an actual acreage amount of 155.4 acres for the reporting year. However,
1.7 acres of this disturbance was actually redisturbance of previously reclaimed lands in the Z Pit area.
This accounts for the total represented on the cover sheet which is an account of all acres disturbed at
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
