Memo to file: M-2001-069
Del Norte west valley Pit APR 14 2010
Amendment AM-1 Division of Rsclain on,
Bond Recalculation Mining and Safety
Date: 4/12/10
The bond recalculation performed as part of the approval of AM-1 resulted in a figure of $54,440. This is the
additional amount for the amendment area only. The AM-1 approval letter that was sent to the operator stated that in
addition to the standing bond of $45,613, an additional amount of $24,508 would be required, for a total revised bond
of $70,121. On the face of it, these numbers may not make sense. The important step in this calculation is the
reduction of bond for the reclaimed phases south of the irrigation ditch
Here is the rationale for the new bond figure:
Total standing bond amount prior to AM-1: $45,613.
Reduction for reclaimed phases S of irrig ditch (anticipated): <29,932.>
Net amount for current phases N of ditch (incl pit & staging): $15,681. (sub total)
Add new total figure for future phases in AM-1: +$54,440.
Revised total bond amount (shown in approval letter): $70,121. (total)
These figures have been discussed with the operator.
? Bob Oswald /?
