Crosby, Erica
From:
Mathews, Dan
Sent:
Monday, March 16, 2009 12:08 PM
To:
Crosby, Erica
Subject:
tamarisk
Erica,
After considering Bob's input, and the constraints we are faced with, my thoughts are:
Have the contractor go ahead and dig /pull out the plants with as much of the root mass as feasible and burn or haul them
off for disposal. Fill in the holes and reseed the disturbance. Over the next couple years (until we terminate jurisdiction) I'll
keep an eye out for seedlings and sprouts and do follow -up mechanical treatment by hand. If there are still some hanging
on when we are ready to terminate, I'll let the landowner know that he might want to consider spraying or other treatment.
I don't think the problem is serious enough that we would want to hang onto bond money for an unknown period of time to
ensure complete eradication.
That's my 2cents anyway.
Dan
