T
This tract was originally classified by Peabody Coal as Irrigated Pasture.
This 39 acre tract was "Wild Flood Irrigated" in the past. That is to say, there were no
furrows, gated pipe, side roll sprinkler system or other methods to control water
distribution. Irrigation water was allowed to traverse over the land at will.
Lloyd family owns 24 shares of Colorado Cooperative Company irrigation water and all
of it is dedicated to this tract.
This tract of land has been abandoned from active farming for at least 15 years,
according to pre disturbance satellite images and the size and distribution of invasive
ros noxious weeds. 1r>
The tract of land is owned by five different families and all but one lives out of state.A
c,6
There is no evidence the land was ever developed into a tract suitable to be irrigated by
a sprinkler system, but rather a flood irrigation technique was utilized
A ratio of UPI ofiwater peracre of, irngatedaand untler a "flood irrigate
y s ste ""
m has been developed for the irrigated pasture reference area. This same ratio is
used to replace flood irrigated pasture on the Lloyd property, ensuring that the same
amount of water is used per acre on both properties.
Using this ratio, this means that 16.3 acres will be flood irrigated and restored to Irrigated
Pasture (IP). This area could be either baled or grazed. The remainder of the property will
be restored to Dryland Pasture (DP).
3) The 2 parcels of 15.35 acres and 42.25 acres immediately west of the Lloyd parcel, which are
now owned -by Western Fuels This is a total of 57.60 acres.
