to the new (Paradox) computer name. The new computer name will be used
throughout the following text.
Technical Revision 47 was approved on March 19, 2009. This TR
established ground water points of compliance (GWPOC) for the Seneca II
Mine. Attachment 7-3 of the Seneca II PAP provides details of this TR.
Well SGAL70 (GW-S70-A) is the GWPOC in the Grassy Creek basin. Well
SFAL72 (008-AU-3) is the GWPOC in the Fish Creek basin. An analysis of
these two GWPOC's is provided in the ground water section of this AHR.
Meteorological Data
Precipitation data was obtained at the Seneca II Mine using a Belfort
Weighing Bucket Rain Gage. Daily precipitation data for this year are
presented in Table 1. Total monthly precipitation data collected since
1981 are presented in Table 2. Where indicated, data from the U.S.
Weather Service - Hayden Station were used. The Seneca II precipitation
gage measured 15.19 inches this year. This value is 2.97 inches (16%)
below the 1981-2009 average. Temperature, wind speed and direction data
are presented in Appendix B of the Seneca II-W AHR. The Seneca II-W
Mine Meteorological Station located approximately seven miles southwest
of the Seneca II Mine. Climatic conditions are similar between the two
mines.
Data from the National Climatic Data Center's Hayden Station is used
here to evaluate the precipitation trend. These data are provided in
Appendix B of the Seneca II-W AHR. For this year, 20.03 inches of
precipitation was measured, which is 2.69 inches (16%) above the 1971-
2000 average. The months of December, January, March, April, May and
June were above average. Snowpack runoff, as estimated by totaling
November through March precipitation values, was 10.17 inches, which was
2.99 inches (42%) above the 1971-2000 average.
2
i
d
