The timing of when flow
values are collected affects these averages. Due to high sediment
levels, this pond was dredged out in 2002. In April 2005, it was noted
that the discharge pipe riser had rusted out. It was replaced in July
2005 with an eight inch plastic pipe set at an elevation approximately
four feet above the elevation of the old dewatering orifice. No flow
occurred after the repair until October 2005. Review of the TDS plot
(SF 0.5) recently indicates a stable trend, with the peak value
occurring in July 2007.
- Surface Water Site SW-S2-12 (SSB12). This site monitors Bond Creek at
its confluence with Fish Creek. It is monitored May through July on a
monthly basis. This site usually dries up in late summer, although
NPDES8 upstream flows continuously. This reduction in flow is due to
stream channel infiltration and evapotranspiration. The TDS plot
indicates a decreasing trend.
12
