(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1981-250
INSPECTION DATE: 3/23/10 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: _ CS
OBSERVATIONS
This was an inspection of the Brand Pit, an active Yuma County 112c sand and gravel permit, conducted by
Eric Scott of DRMS as a result of an acreage reduction request submitted by Yuma County. DRMS met Yuma
County Road and Bridge representative Howard McGinnis at the site, and observed the site with him at
approximately 1330.
Yuma County has proposed releasing 71 unaffected acres currently permitted at this location due to proximity
to manmade structures such as gas wells and utility lines. The mining site identification sign was observed at
the active site entrance, and the proposed new extent of the site was defined by painted steel T-posts and
existing fences.
It was determined during this inspection that none of the acreage to be released has ever been impacted by
mining activities at the site. Two underground utility lines were observed running along the east side of the
former permit boundary. Yuma County will revise the acreage reduction request map to show a 200' offset from
these utilities, and the permit boundary will be adjusted accordingly.
No other issues were noted during this inspection, therefore, as soon as DRMS receives the revised permit
boundary map the acreage reduction will be approved and processed.
I & E Contact Address
Howard McGinnis - Yuma County Road and Bridge
1310 South Blake Street
Wray, CO 80758
