Annual Report - 2009 <br />Henderson Mine and Mill Reclamation Activities <br />Permit No. M-1977-342 <br />Included are the Colorado Division of Reclamation and Mining and Safety (DRMS) Annual 112d-3 <br />Report for Climax Molybdenum Company's Henderson Mine and Mill (Permit No. M-77-342), and a <br />check for $1,150.00. Note that there was a delay in the receipt of the invoice for this year's annual report <br />and a check was prepared before the invoice was received, and therefore the amount was estimated at that <br />time for more than the $633.00 annual fee. Below is a summary of interim maintenance and reclamation <br />activities conducted during 2009. <br />1.0 Henderson Mine <br />1.1 Disturbance <br />New disturbance at the Mine in 2009 was limited to incremental caving of the glory hole. <br />1.2 Reclamation <br />No reclamation activities were conducted at the Mine in 2009, however routine maintenance of erosion <br />and sediment control structures was carried out. <br />1.3 Other Activities <br />1.3.1- Weed Control <br />The Henderson Mine treated 32 acres for noxious weeds treated through a contract sprayer, <br />primarily around the active mine. Treatment extended to access roads and limited areas at the <br />URAD site. Species found at the Mine were Yellow Toadflax, Oxeye Daisy, Canada Thistle, <br />Bull Thistle and Musk Thistle. <br />2.0 Henderson Mill <br />2.1 Disturbance <br />A total of 16 acres from incremental tailings impoundment filling were disturbed over 2009, excluding <br />topsoil salvage areas (4 acres per quarter, on average). <br />2.2 Reclamation <br />Reclamation efforts included the salvage of 155,000 cubic yards of topsoil/growth media from inundation <br />areas along the upstream side of the tailing impoundment. The material was placed in the north stockpile, <br />which is situated on the northern end of the impoundment. <br />2.3 Other Activities <br />2.3.1- Weed Control <br />The Mill treated 276 acres for noxious weeds through a contract sprayer. Species found were <br />Plume less Thistle, Bull Thistle, Musk Thistle, Canada Thistle, Yellow Toadflax, Oxeye Daisy <br />and Houndstongue. <br />Page 1 of 2
