Additionally, the Operator plans to construct a unit train loadout on
private land located west of the old Fruita refinery. The Operator requests assistance in
determining the level of fish and wildlife studies required.
Rule 2.04.11(2) states that prior to initiating such studies, the applicant shall contact the
Division to determine what fish and wildlife resources information will be required.
Attached are drawings that show the additional proposed disturbance at the McClane
Canyon Mine (Figure 1) and the proposed disturbance at the proposed unit train loadout
(Figure 2). There is some wildlife information in the McClane Canyon Mine permit that
may be adequate for the additional disturbance located at the mine site.
The land at the mine site is managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The unit
train loadout will be constructed on private surface.
Sincerely,
J. E. /CtoP. E.
Consulting Engineer
cc: Denver Office
