7-?Pe
GAEDE PIT RECEIVED
M-1978-051 MAR I " 4U'ij
Technical Revision Division of Reclamation,
Mining & Safety
Lincoln County with this "Technical Revision" for the Gaede Pit is requesting that all the
topsoil for the reclamation of the pit be allowed to be imported. The amended
Reclamation Plan submitted with the Pit Amendment on February 14, 2000 calls for 3 to
4 inches of topsoil to be placed over the disturbed pit area prior to seeding and mulching.
This plan stated that the topsoil would come from developed stockpiles or that some
topsoil might need to be imported to meet the specified depth of replacement. This
technical revision would require that all the topsoil needed to fulfill the requirements of
the Reclamation Plan would be imported. The County routinely removes windblown
topsoil from roadway ditches and fencerows and currently has 2 or 3 locations that should
provide the necessary depth of topsoil. The Gaede Pit will probably be reclaimed in the
year 2012. The County will take the necessary steps to certify that the topsoil imported is
clean and does not contain any pollutants that would contaminate the ground or water in
the pit or prevent germination and growth of the seed mixture.
Included with this request is the Technical Revision Fee of $216.00.
HIV
MAR 1 (')'ZOIO
Division of RedaMdON
Mining & Safetf
