PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Minrec, Inc., 2024 E 3/4 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81503 has submitted a complete <br />application for a technical revision to the Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety for its <br />North Thompson Creek Mines, mining permit no. C-1981-025. The proposed revision will <br />make minor changes to the mine's hydrologic monitoring requirements and incorporate a <br />new discharge permit into the permit application package. <br />The mine permit area is located in Pitkin County in lands located in Sections 21, 22, 27, 28, <br />33, 34, 35, T. 8 S., R. 89 W., 6th P.M. and Sections 2, 3, 4, T. 9 S., R. 89 W., 6th P.M. <br />The mine permit area encompasses 3300 acres. The surface of the mine permit area is <br />owned by the North Thompson-Four Mile Mineral and Land Corporation (portions of <br />sections 34, 35 T8S), Pitkin County and Carroll Properties, LLC (portions of section 22 <br />T8S), the Crystal River Ranch Company (portions sections 2, 3 T9S, and sections 34, 35 <br />TBS, the Bureau of Land Management (portions of section 35 TBS, and the U. S. Forest <br />Service (portions of sections 21, 22, 27, 28, 33, 34 TBS, and sections 2, 3, 4 T9S). <br />The mine permit area is located approximately 9.5 miles from the bridge across the Crystal <br />River up County Road 108, (North Thompson Creek Road). The permit area can be <br />located on the U.S.G.S. 7.5 minute Stony Ridge, CO quadrangle map. The total permit <br />area encompasses 3300 acres of which 1516 acres is on Federal land. <br />A copy of the proposed technical revision is available for public inspection at the Garfield <br />County Clerk and Recorder's Office, Garfield County Courthouse, Glenwood Springs, CO <br />and at the offices of the Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety, 1313 Sherman St., <br />Room 215, Denver, CO, 80203, (303) 866-3567. Written comments regarding this <br />application may be submitted to and additional information may be obtained from the <br />Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety at the above address. Written comments must <br />be received by the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety within 10 days after the date <br />of this publication in order to be considered.
