III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
General Comments
This was an aerial inspection covering most portions of the Seneca II-W reclaimed mine pit areas and the shop
area. 10 oblique aerial photos were taken by Harry Ranney of the Division on the afternoon of February 26,
2010. The imagery was viewed by Dan Mathews of the Division on March 1, 2010. Weather appeared to be
clear at the time of the flight. Ground conditions appeared to be 100% snow covered in all areas, and no activity
was evident. Sediment Ponds 006, 016 and 016A were included in the coverage areas; all were iced over and
snow covered. Although difficult to determine with certainty, it appeared that there may have been renewed
ground movement on the in-slope to Pond 016A. This will need to be checked following melt-off.
There was no activity evident at the site at the time of the flight.
3
