Cripple Creek & Victor Phone (719) 689-2977
Gold Mining Company Fax (719) 689-3254
PO Box 191
100 N 3`a
ANGLOGOLD A sHANTI Victor, CO 80860-0191
ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (COLORADO) CORP.
4. VLF Operational Balances
Maintaining the VLF operational water balance within prescribed limits will be a chief guideline for operations
during the HJ project. The nominal total barren flow from the plant will not be increased during the HJ project
and flow will continue to be distributed to the three phase drainages in the VLF under the condition that the
flow to any one phase must not exceed the pumping capacity of that phase. Additionally, as the time for
solutions introduced into the VLF during the HJ injections will be more rapid than solutions introduced on the
surface, extra consideration will be given to ensuring that the flow reporting to the Phase 2 PSSA will not exceed
safe levels. Ensuring that these guidelines can be easily followed will be aided by the relatively low flow rates
expected to be allotted to leaching networks on Phase 2 and the low level in the PSSA predicted ahead of the HJ
project.
References
Rucker, D.
