(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M- 2007 -030
INSPECTION DATE: March 09,2010 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: DMC
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety normal monitoring
program. The City of Rifle Materials Resource Area is located approximately 1 mile east of the Rifle Exit from 1 -70, just
north of Highway 6. Frank Shaw and Bobby O'Dell, both representing the City of Rifle, were present at the site.
The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12. The
sign is located at the mine entrance off of Ash Avenue where it enters the permit boundary. The permit boundaries are
clearly marked by t- posts, fences and geological features that are easily identifiable.
The mine is active, however no mining activities were observed during the inspection. Material has been stockpiled on
the pit floor, with a majority of the permit area still undisturbed. Conditions at the site are consistent with the June,
2009 annual report.
A berm has been built along the south and west sides of the permit area to control runoff, which is directed into an
approved diversion ditch. No evidence of erosion or offsite damage was observed during the inspection.
Photos showing the conditions observed during the inspection are included at the end of this report.
No problems or violations were noted during the inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Dustin Czapla at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3 rd Street, Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone # 970 -243-
6299.
I & E Contact Address
Rod Hamilton
City of Rifle
202 Railroad Avenue
Rifle, CO
81650
cc:
❑
CE
❑
BLM:
❑
FS
❑
HW
❑
HMWMD (CH)
❑
WQCD (CH)
X
Steve Shuey, DRMS
