Dear Mr. Cavanaugh:
The Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety (DRMS) has completed a Preliminary Adequacy Review of the 112d
application for the Last Chance Mine. Please find attached a review worksheet and memo comments from DRMS staff.
Issues that need clarification or correction have been noted in Bold Italics. General staff comments have been noted in
plain italics. DRMS must receive responses back by April 2, 2010 in order to finish the review and calculate the
reclamation liability before the April 14, 2010 deadline. There is no opportunity for an extension of the decision date.
As noted in earlier correspondence per Rule 1.4.1(9): If, at the end of the 365 day period (April 14, 2010), the
application has outstanding adequacy issues, the Office may set the matter for a Board hearing. At the hearing the
Board may deny, or approve the application with or without conditions.
