i
NUVEMCO LAST CHANCE MINE
STORM WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN
INTRODUCTION
This storm water management plan has been prepared in response to the State of
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety requirements.
The hydrologic study area or staging area is shown on the attached map, Figure 1, and
photographs. The area consists of the following:
• Topsoil stockpile;
• Temporary ore stockpile;
• Waste rock dump;
• Trailer, for office facilities;
• Parking:
• Equipment parking area;
• Sediment Pond #1;
• Sediment Pond #2, and
• 2' earthen berms to divert or direct storm water flows.
All of the above features are currently present on site. There is some vegetation
remaining on the perimeter of the site as can be seen on Figure 1 and in the photographs.
STUDY AREA
The study area is generally bounded by the following:
• County Road DD 16 on the southwest;
• A reclaimed road to the northwest;
• A re- contoured and reclaimed area to the northeast; and a mine access road on the
southeast.
Ditches and berms on either side of County Road DD 16 will generally prevent run -on
from the slopes to the south.
The mine access road on the southeast side of the study has a borrow ditch along the
southeast side of the road that diverts runoff from up- gradient to the northeast along the
roadway and away from the study area. A hydrologic study of the up- gradient area to the
southeast and the ditch along the roadway was not performed.
The area calculations are based on a PDF file that showed the proposed area at 1 " =50'.
This file was placed into AutoCAD and the scaled areas were computed with the
following results.
March 2, 2010
1
