MANAGEMENT
RECEIVED
MAR 12 ?010
au,o,u,, yi KOCiamat,
Mi: i>0 and SAly
On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC, (BRL), enclosed is an application for a minor
revision to provide for the construction of a light use road to provide access to Terror
Creek. The light use road begins on the west ridge at a road previously constructed to
access gob vent hole GVB-B3-A2. The road terminates at the road leading to
monitoring well TC-03-03. The road is approximately one mile long with an average
grade of 7%.
Background
Bowie has historically had issues with having access to Terror Creek and the Terror
Creek Road. Bowie has had access from the south through private property which is
no longer an option. Bowie has used the longest access route which involves traveling
north on Stevens Gulch road and then south on Terror Creek road. Bowie has used the
relatively steep Terror Creek decent which is on USDA-FS managed. The proposed
road will provide good seasonal access to the Terror Creek road.
Right of Entry
Right of entry is granted by BRL's Federal Coal lease subject to analysis of impacts by
the surface management agency. The proposed light use road is located on BLM
managed surface.
Affected and Disturbed Area
There will be 6.0 acres of new disturbance. The affected area will increase 2.6 acres.
Cultural Resources
See Volume VI, item 11.
