No impact to alluvial groundwater in Oak Creek was anticipated and no groundwater monitoring was
conducted.
A spring and seep survey is performed annually in May covering the base of the ridge along Trout
Creek from the northern Moffat boundary to the base of West Ridge. The parameters used for surface
water monitoring sites are analyzed to characterize the type of flow, with the exception of TSS. Of the
12 springs and 5 seeps either damp or flowing, all 12 springs and 5 seeps exhibited sufficient discharge
for flow to be estimated and field parameters measured during the 2009 monitoring period. The
parameters of the seeps and springs monitored were within the acceptable range.
Two discharges at the Edna Mine are regulated by the Colorado Discharge Permit System permit
number CO-0032638. The two NPDES outfalls at the Edna Mine discharged routinely during 2009.
DMP 004A and DMP 007A did not exceed compliance criteria.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions at (303) 866-3567 ext. 8134.
Sincerely,
Jason Musick
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Troy Summers, WWC Engineering, 611 Skyline Road, Laramie, WY 82070
