(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M- 1977 -136
INSPECTION DATE: 02/17/2010 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: THM
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the normal monitoring program established by the Colorado Division
of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. The Richard Bachman Pit is located 5.5 miles southeast of Meeker,
Colorado off of RBC Road No. 8. The site is a 112c operation. Scott Nielson and Clint Chappell both
representing Rio Blanco County accompanied the inspector(s) during the inspection.
The mine identification sign and the affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with rule
3.1.12. The sign is located on a post at the main entrance of the gravel mine. The permit boundaries are
comprised of fence posts that are easily identifiable around the entire perimeter of the mine.
The mine is active, however, due to the snow cover that existed no mining activities were observed during the
inspection. Various stockpiles of material were observed on the pit floor. The majority of the permit area
appeared to be disturbed. The conditions observed during the inspection are consistent to the conditions
described in the July 10, 2009 annual report.
The site was covered with approximately 6 to 12 inches of snow during the inspection therefore evaluation of
revegetative success was not possible during the inspection. Topsoil stock piles were observed at the top and
adjacent to the east slope of the permit area.
No evidence of erosion or off site damage was observed during the inspection.
Photos that show the conditions observed during the inspection are included at the end of this report.
No problems or violations were noted or observed during the February 17, 2010 inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Travis Marshall at the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3 rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, phone no. 970 - 241 -2042.
I & E Contact Address cc:
NAME: David P.
