(Page 2) <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-2002-049 <br />INSPECTION DATE: 02/17/2010 <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: THM <br />This inspection was conducted as part of the normal monitoring program established by the Colorado Division <br />of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. The Quinn Draw Gravel Pit is located 10 miles northeast of Rangely, <br />Colorado off of RBC Road No. 122. The site is a 9.99 acre 1 l Oc operation. Stan Rasmussen and Clint Chappell <br />both representing Rio Blanco County accompanied the inspector(s) during the inspection. <br />A sign was observed at the entrance of the mine site but it is not compliant with Rule 3.1.12(1). According to <br />Rule 3.1.12(1) the following must be visible on the sign: The name of the operator; a statement that a <br />reclamation permit for the operation has been issued by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board; and the <br />permit number. Please post a sign at the site that meets the criteria of Rule 3.1.12 and provide photo- <br />documentation of its placement to this office no later than the date indicated on the last page of this report. The <br />permit boundaries are comprised of fence posts that are easily identifiable around the entire perimeter of the <br />mine. <br />The mine is active, however, due to the snow cover that existed no mining activities were observed during the <br />inspection. Various stockpiles of material were observed on the pit floor. The majority of the permit area <br />appeared to be disturbed. <br />The site was covered with approximately 6 to 12 inches of snow during the inspection therefore evaluation of <br />revegetative success was not possible during the inspection.
