Colorado Springs Utilities <br />It's how we're all connected <br />March 8, 2010 <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Dear Sir/Madam, <br />RE: M-1992-074, Clear Spring Ranch Gravel Pit No. 2 <br />Colorado Springs Utilities herein submits the 2009 annual report, on your standard form and the <br />attached Mining Plan map for the Clear Spring Ranch Gravel Pit No. 2 in accordance with Rule <br />1.15 of Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for 112 Permits. <br />All the required information is shown on the attached Mining Plan map. The annual fee of <br />$791.00 is also enclosed. <br />During the seventeenth year of operation, an additional 0.519 acres were affected, including an <br />access road built around the perimeter of Phase 6. The total affected area is 23.238 acres, of <br />which 9.622 acres are currently experiencing some mining activity. In 2010, mining may be <br />expanded in Phases 5 and 6. Reclamation has occurred in the areas shown on the map; 3.99 <br />acres have been top soiled, fertilized and reseeded. Currently there are no plans to reclaim <br />additional acreage in 2010. Construction debris was used as backfill for approximately 1.5 acres <br />of Phase 2 in 2009; approval of construction debris as a backfill material was approved as <br />Revision No. TR-3 of the mining permit in 2003, and was also approved by CDPHE in 2009. <br />We anticipate that the enclosed report and map meet your requirements.
