The County Line Pit is situated on the Vega Creek, an ephemeral creek, which was
dry at the time of the inspection. Sand and gravel is mined from the bed of Vega Creek and stockpiled on the
east side of the creek. No mining was taking place at the time of the inspection; mining at the site is intermittent.
The site is considered active due to the removal of product from stockpiles. Mining related disturbance has been
contained to the bed of the creek and the product stockpile area. The east bank of the Vega Creek, adjacent to
the stockpile area, has been cut through to allow access to the creek bed. The creek banks throughout the rest of
the site have been preserved and do not show any signs of erosion.
Based on the observations of this inspection, this operation is in full compliance with the Construction Materials
Rules and Regulations.
