Martin <br />Chevron Mining, Inc Executive Director <br />116 Inverness Drive East, Suite 207 <br />Englewood, CO 80203-2273 <br />RE: Edna Mine, Permit C-80-001 <br />January 2010 Discharge Monitoring Report Review <br />Dear Mr. Leach, <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS) has reviewed and found the <br />above referenced report to be in compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2). The January 2010 Discharge <br />Monitoring Reports were received by the Division on 02 March 2010; the reports cover the time period <br />from 01 January 2010 through 31 January 2010. <br />Two NPDES outfalls at the Edna Mine discharged during January2010. Discharge 007A did not <br />exceed any compliance criteria during the month. DMP 004 exceeded the 30-day average for <br />manganese. According to the Edna Mine's Colorado Discharge Permit the 30-Day Average maximum <br />concentration for manganese is 1,550 ug/l. The January manganese concentration was measured at <br />2080 ug/l. <br />It is noted that based on a Memorandum of Understanding between the Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety and the Water Quality Control Division (WQCD), the WQCD will be responsible <br />for enforcing CDPS permit conditions including effluent limitations. <br />Thank you for the timely submittal. <br />If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
