0 2.05.3
Water Tanks
A water tank located on the utility level which is above the portal level. The
fabricated steel tank is constructed on an oiled sand base. The tank is
approximately 52 feet in diameter and 32 feet high which provides a capacity
of approximately 500,000 gallons.
A 50,000 water tank for the B -Seam Portal is located above the portal, west
of the downhill conveyor transfer building.
A water tank is located above and west of the preparation plant. This tank
will have a capacity of about 140,000 gallons (32 foot diameter).
Water Treatment Building
This pre- engineered metal building is located east of the water tank. It is
approximately 14 feet by 20 feet with a 12 foot eave height.
Mine Vent Fans
A mine ventilation fan and steel duct work located at the return entry on the
. D -Seam portal level. The ventilation fan is approximately 8 -feet in diameter.
A similar fan was installed on the B -Seam portal bench. A new fan and fan
shaft was constructed at the utility bench during the last quarter of 1998 and
early 1999. The fan is 10 -feet in diameter. A standby ventilation fan was
constructed at the utility bench during 2003. This fan is a mirror image of the
existing 10 -foot diameter fan. See Maps 15 -2 and 33. A vent shaft was
developed in Freeman Gulch in 2000. The 400 foot deep exhaust shaft was
lined with a 6 -foot diameter steel liner plate. A 10 -foot diameter fan and
associated duct work was installed on the Hubbard Creek shaft during 2009.
Power Line
A high voltage overhead power line extends from the existing Delta Montrose
Electric Power line to the portal area substation. The power line is
approximately 5,600 feet long. Approximately 750 feet of new power line will
be constructed for the downhill conveyor. About 500 feet will be constructed
at the portal bench and 250 feet at the highway stockpile area. The B -Seam
portal bench required another 200 feet of powerline.
Non -Coal Waste Storage
Non -coal waste will be stored at the portal levels. Three concrete walls will
be constructed to form the storage area. The walls will form a u- shape. The
PR-12 2.05-16- 02/10
