J. J. Dudash -2- February 23, 2010
modification to lease D-036955. The lease modification encompasses 160 acres in W/2SE/4 of
Section 8 and W/2NE/4 Section 17 in Township 13 South, Range 91 West, 6'h P.M.
Permit and Affected Area
The affected area will increase 1,170 acres to 5,171 acres (this takes into account the reduction
in the area to the north that will not be mined). The permit boundary will increase 2,436 acres.
Cultural Resources
Appropriate cultural resource surveys have been conducted and are included in the permit in
Volume VI.
Soils
Not applicable, no surface disturbance.
Vegetation
Not applicable, no surface disturbance.
Hydrologic Monitoring
The Operator intends to install an additional ground water monitoring well west of Terror Creek,
north of the proposed mine plan area (2010-1). The Operator is working with the BLM to obtain
approval to install the well through an exploration license application. There are numerous
springs and ponds in the west expansion area. Most of the springs and ponds were monitored
by the Bowie No. 1 Mine as well as the few streams in the expansion area. Baseline data for the
entire permit area is provided.
Bond
The Bowie No. 2 Mine will assume responsibility for some drill roads and drill sites permitted by
the Bowie No. 1 Mine. Bowie No. 1 Mine TR-41 permitted the Terror Creek Section 8 Road and
BRL-1-03-01. Bowie No. 1 Mine TR-49 permitted the Pond 7-1 Road, DH-69 Road and drill
sites BRL1-08-01 and BRL1-08-04. All of these items except the DH-69 road are within the new
Bowie No. 2 Mine permit boundary. The DH-69 road crosses the new permit boundary so part of
the road will remain with the Bowie No. 1 Mine permit and part of the road will move to the Bowie
No. 2 Mine permit.
The bond for Bowie No. 1, TR-41 was $17,704. The bond for the Bowie No. 1 Mine TR-49 was
$27,508.85 after adding the credit taken for TR-44. TR-49 had 1.8 miles of road. The Bowie
No. 1 Mine keeps 1.2 miles of the road. The Bowie No. 2 assumes 0.6 miles of the road and the
two drill holes. The Bowie No. 2 Mine's portion of the TR-49 bond is $22,541 with the remaining
$4,968 applicable to the Bowie No. 1 Mine. Therefore the increase in bond for the Bowie No. 2
Mine is $22,672.00.
The following data are provided to support this permit revision application. Revised text is
highlighted in grey. A 6#ikethr. ugh pine shows text that is proposed to be deleted. All of the
Volume I text is enclosed because so many page numbers changed with the additional text
required to address the west expansion area. The following information is provided to support
this technical revision application.
Volume I Table of Contents Complete
Section 2.03.4 Updated for the west expansion
Section 2.04.4 Updated for the west expansion
Section 2.04.5 Updated for the west expansion
