In order to expedite the review of PR-10 for Bowie No. 2, 1 thought I would e-mail one question to you now for
clarification.
I was under the impression that Bowie was going to state under Rule 2.05.6(6) that material damage to the Terror
Creek Reservoir could occur due to mine induced seismicty affecting the landslide adjacent to the reservoir. I
thought that this statement would be made as a consequence of concerns from Jason Ward concerning the
landslide stability issue. With the possibility of material damage causing interruption or diminution of use of the
reservoir, Rule 2.04.7(3) would require an alternate supply of water.
An alternate water supply is described on revised page 2.05-116 of the May 12, 2008 submittal. However, on
revised page 2.05-106 of the same submittal, it is stated that the landslide will not be affected by mine induced
seismicity.
Could you please explain Bowie's position and is it in agreement with Jason Ward's position?
6/12/2008
