Wastewater Treatment Facility
The wastewater treatment facility treats the effluent coming from the bathhouses, laboratory, ofl•ices, and
shop. When these facilities are no longer needed, the treatment facility will be reclaimed.
• The first step in the reclamation rocess will be to remove the surface structures. The surface structures
p
include; fence, blower building, control box for the lift station, and the control box for the flow meter.
These facilities will either be salvaged or scrapped. The next step will be to remove all airlines and
associated materials from the ponds. All fill material covering the pond liner, the liner itself, and the
retaining walls will then be removed. Finally, the chlorinator, manhole, all pumps, and the support
structure will be removed, and the area backfilled. The pond embankment material will be used as
backfill. Any excess embankment material will be used to supplement backfilling operations at the portal
areas.
The area will then be topsoiled. The topsoil will be redistributed to a depth of 6 inches over the area.
Topsoil will be analyzed after to seeding and the appropriate amendments, if any, will be applied to the
soil. The area will be seeded with the pastureland seed mixture, and seeded areas will be covered with a
straw mulch, placed at the rate of two tons/acre.
Fresh Water System
Once the fresh water system is no longer needed to support mining and related operations, the associated
disturbed areas will be reclaimed. The overland water line will be disassembled and removed from the
site. The pipe and -all fittings will be salvaged or scrapped. Disturbance resulting from the removal of the
line will be minimal, and it is not anticipated that any grading or re-seeding will be necessary.
.The water-supply borehole will be sealed as per the requirements of Rule 4.07, Sealing of Drillholes and
Underground Openings. The water storage tank will be removed prior to topsoil redistribution, and will
either be salvaged or scrapped. The tank area will then be retopsoiled, seeded, and mulched as previously
described.
Red-Rock Crusher
Once it is determined crushed red-rock is no longer needed to support the mining and related operations;
the crusher area will be reclaimed. Any foreign materials left at the site such as wood or steel scrap will
be removed prior to reclamation. All structures and equipment including, but not limited to, the hopper,
crusher, and support structure will be removed and either salvaged or scrapped. The entire length of the
cut will be regraded to a slope of 3H:1V, to blend the cut into the natural topography.
The upper bench and access road leading into to the site will be ripped to a depth of 24 inches and disked
to establish an adequate seed-bed. The site will then be seeded with the rangelandlwildlife seed mixture.
Prior to seeding, the soil will be sampled and analyzed to determine if any soil amendments are necessary,
and amendments, as indicted, will be applied. It is anticipated this area will be seeded utilizing a
rangeland drill. In the event the mixture is broadcast seeded, the seeding rate will be doubled. The area
will then be straw mulched with the mulch applied at the rate of two tons/acre.

T~07-34 2.05-31.1 10/31 /07
