rz-
STEEL'S RANCH
Edwin S. and Geraldine A. Steel
26550 Highway 285 South
Box 1125
Buena Vista. Colorado
Ph. (719) 395-8277
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Mr. Peter S. Hays:
M, 1 a8q -oa 3
MCBMW
FEB 18 2010
Division or Keclamstlon,
Mining and Safety
In pone to your letter of 22 January 2010 on the Jesse Lee Pit, I discussed this with Mr. Pelino before
this hearing ever took place. And I wanted to bring in County Planner Don Reimer. Mr. Pelino said that
this would only cause more problems, so I kind of dropped the matter.
We are not talking about storm water, we are talking about irrigation water that at times breaks away and
runs down this ditch, if we do not catch it erodes our field and runs into the river, this is why the berm
should be there to eliminate the water running into his ditch and down to the river.
If my field erodes and pollutes the Arkansas River you will be responsible to fix my field and you will be
responsible for the pollution of the river.
Sincerely,
Edwin S. Steel
Geraldine A. Steel
