This revision is
to drive 88 steel H-beam piles under the foundation of the Coal Preparation Plant approved per TR-
118. These piles are 90' long and will be driven to below grade. Neither the approved design
of the mat foundation, the overall design of the CPP building, nor the design of the LRP will be
changed with the installation of these piles. They are simply a construction detail to better
ensure the success of the approved CPP mat foundation in handling differential settling that
may occur on the surface of the LRP. As these piles are below grade and may enhance the
stability of the site, they will be left in place when the CPP is removed at final reclamation. The
LRP will be finished to final grade per the approved LRP designs, burying the piles with several
feet of additional material.
Please contact me at (970) 929-2238 or by e-mail should you have questions regarding this
submittal.
Sincerel ,
Ka leen G.
