f
Section 4.05.3, Diversions and Conveyance of Overland Flow
Previous designs for gob vent borehole pads assumed that the pad contours were at an angle to the
topographic contours, as shown on approved Map 36a. Therefore, a designed collection ditch was
required to channel the runoff water from a portion of the pad cut slope to the silt fence for sediment
treatment. As a result, Map 36a shows a ditch designation along with a reference to a designed ditch.
However, on proposed Map 36b of TR-52, the pad contours are parallel to the topographic contours so
no such collection ditch would be needed for the cut slope disturbance. However, a contingency plan
should be in place in the event that a collection ditch would be required. Please revise Map 36b to
reference a designed collection ditch as a contingency plan.
4. A note appears on proposed Map 36b that describes the construction of a berm around the drill pad
topsoil stockpile. However, no berm appears in the drawing, as was done on approved Map 36a.
Please include a berm around the topsoil stockpile in the drawing on proposed Map 36b.
Public and Other Auncy Comments
Attached is a comment letter that the Division received from the Colorado Division of Water
Resources concerning TR-52. That agency has no concerns with the proposed activities. If and when
any additional comment letters are received, they will be forwarded to BRL.
If you have any questions, please call me.
Sincerely,
bjj
J sep J. ash
nvironmental Protection Specialist
Attachment
cc: Jim Stover P.E.
