p.2 <br />3 .1 Cropland - Irrigated Alfalfa Hay (IC) These areas will have 100% alfalfa which are well- <br />managed, irrigated consistently and harvested. These lands have primarily prime farmland soils, <br />as determined by the MRCS in 2008. See discussion in c ..eetion: ZR-5 of Orr ZMft 689',"4 ndR <br />,? n?,??? mlardwSoils <br />3.2 Pastureland - lrricgated Grass (IN These areas are primarily grasses but are not as well <br />managed as Pastureland - Irrigated Hay, have poorer soils and do not yield as much vegetation. <br />These areas are either baled or grazed. <br />3.3 Pastureland - Irrigated Swales (IPSW) These areas are generally low lying areas which drain <br />irrigated fields around them. They are not directly irrigated but usually have substantial water from <br />the surrounding fields. They can have wetland plants and these area are not managed or baled. <br />3.4 Dryiand Pasture (DP These areas are restored ry,land areas?tha were prd Ig slS ag ?rU <br />'tA =ax eff-M. and have extensive shrub cover but few trees and herbaceous cover. Sagebrush was <br />Wh._the predominant shrub in the pre-mine rangeland. <br />3.5 Rangeland - Undisturbed R-U These areas are natural dry rangeland areas that have not <br />been disturbed. This is a minor portion of the permit area. <br /> <br />3.6 Potential Cropland PC This is a post-mining land use category (PC) for areas or fields <br />where the majority of the soils are prime, but there is inadequate water for irrigation to allow for <br />high yields associated with prime farmland.
