Box 1556
27858 Hwy 6 & 24
Rifle, CO 81650
(970) 625-3738
FAX: (970) 625-5605
c o iz PST-) v %
A,C--n d r4 S

This letter provides corrective actions undertaken by United Companies in response to your Site
' Inspection Report dated October 16, 2009. 1 appreciate the extension granted by the DRMS. Since I arr
new on the job and my predecessor responded to several of the problems, I wanted to make sure that I
had adequate time to visit the site and ensure that all corrective actions were implemented as required
by the DRMS.
Listed below are the observed problems and the corrective actions implemented by United Companies
at the Seahorse Ranch West Gravel Pit.
Permit ID sign and Boundary Markers
Attached are photos of the permit ID sign and boundary marker signs recently installed at the site. Only
two photos of the boundary signs are attached. I recently purchased a new digital camera and my
memory was full, however; I place nearly a dozen signs along the boundary. I was unable to place
boundary signs along the western half of the southern boundary. United Companies recently surveyed
this boundary and the survey markers are under the snow plus the ground is frozen so it would be
difficult to pound fence post into the frozen ground. As soon as spring arrives, I will locate the survey
markers and place post with boundary markers in this region.
Noxious Weed
Attached is a weed plan developed by my predecessor. I will meet with our subcontractor in the next
few months to evaluate the effectiveness of the existing plan.
