<br />PUBLIC NOTICE
<br />Bowie Resources, LLC, P.O. Box
<br />483, Paonia, CO, 81428, has sub-
<br />mitted a complete application for a
<br />technical revision to the Division of
<br />Reclamation, Mining & Safety for its
<br />approved Bowie No. 2 Mine, min-
<br />ing permit no. C-1996-083. The pro-
<br />posed revision will allow the Operator
<br />to construct an access road and drill
<br />site in the mouth of Dove Gulch.
<br />Two holes will be drilled into the old
<br />D- Seam workings. The first hole will
<br />be a monitoring well to determine the
<br />nature, quality and.extent of water in
<br />the D-Seam workings. If there is a
<br />significant amount of water in the D-
<br />Seam, the second hole, a dewatering
<br />well, will be drilled. A pump powered
<br />by a diesel generator will be installed
<br />in the well and the D-Seam will be
<br />dewatered. Water will likely be dis-
<br />charged into Hubbard Creek.
<br />The mine facilities are located north
<br />of Bowie Road near the town of
<br />Bowie, CO. A pump station, three
<br />sediment ponds and unit train loadout
<br />are located south of Bowie Road.
<br />The Fire Mountain Canal is located
<br />south of the mine facilities and north
<br />of the unit train loadout. The North
<br />Fork of the Gunnison River is located
<br />south of the mine permit bound-
<br />ary. The proposed mine permit area
<br />is located on the U.S. 'Geological _
<br />Survey 7.5 minute Bowie Quadrangle

<br />minerals accounting for the balance
<br />of 3348 acres.
