It is similar to other benches where a culvert drains a low spot. I assume you are going to
label the culvert as an "undesigned culvert" on the map.
On another note, I believe that Bill Bear had mentioned to you that I was anxious to finish up the map and
hydrology design changes he and I had worked out in the field for the Bowie No. 2 Mine, including the revised (no
silt fence needed) small area exemption demonstrations for the train track bench outslopes. Is Bowie close to
submitting this technical revision?
From: Jim Stover [mailto:jestover@bresnan.net]
Sent: Monday, November 05, 2007 12:43 PM
To: Dudash, Joe
Subject: TR-50 Adequacy
Joe:
Regarding the undersigned culvert, virtually all of the flow from Ditch C-20 flows into Culvert C-C21. The parking
lot slopes to the north. The undersigned culvert will be installed just in case a small part on the parking lot
extension slopes back to the south.
The undersigned culvert is called out as 18" diameter. C-C21 has a minimum size of 12" in diameter.
I wanted to give you a chance to approve or disapprove this rational before I made the map changes.
Jim Stover
J. E.
