WATER INFORMATION
The mining operation in the expansion area would not affect any surface or groundwater
systems, as the gravel deposit form a mesa about 130 feet above the Uncompaghre River, with
no surface or groundwater. Furthermore, the Uncompaghre River is not included in the
expansion pit boundaries.
Stormwater best management practices will be implemented in accordance with Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment regulations. In general, stormwater controls will
consist of an earth berm being placed along the perimeter of the phase being mined. It is
anticipated that all stormwater will remain onsite and any accidental releases will be addressed in
accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
