• 2.05.3 <br />do not meet the requirements of an Access Road, to revise the existing roads would be a major <br />disturbance to surface areas. it would increase erosion and sediment and disrupt mine operations. <br />The road is gavel surfaced. <br />Drainage for this road is an integral part of the overall drainage plan for the mine facilities. The <br />drainage plan is designed for the 100-year, 24-hour storm. For detailed description of drainage, <br />see Section 2.05.6(3) -Reclamation Plan - Protection of Hydrologic Balance and Map 8-1. <br />The applicant will maintain and repair the road as necessary by blading, ditching, removal of <br />rocks, culvert cleaning, replacement of surface and restoration of road prism. The cut and fill <br />slopes have been vegetated in accordance with Section 2.05.4 -Reclamation Plan: General <br />Requirements. The road, after cessation of mining operations, will be left in place [o access <br />grazing azeas as stated in Section 2.05.5 - Postmining Land Use. The road is watered periodically <br />to control dust in accordance with Air Pollution Control Plan, Section 2.05.6(1). <br />Access is provided to the reclaimed waste disposal area and Pond Nos. 1 and 2 on a road shown on <br />Maps 8-1 and 8A-12. The road is an existing structure with an overall gradient of approximately <br />2.8%. It is used for access to soil storage areas and the reclaimed waste disposal azea, and <br />maintenance of sedimentation Pond Nos. 1 and 2. The west ridge waste disposal area is accessed <br />• by a graveled road shown on Map 8A-2. Access to Pond Nos. 3 and 4 is on an existing BLM road <br />and a road segment constructed from the BLM road to the pond construction sites. See Map 8-1 <br />or 8A-2. <br />The road was designed and constructed for overall convenience, safety, and erosion and sediment <br />control. It is located considering local topography. Drainage is controlled utilizing surface ditches <br />in the waste disposal azea. See Section 2.05.3(3)(b) -Existing Structures, for discussion of the <br />Waste Disposal Area. <br />The road is maintained, re-vegetated, and restored the same as for all the mine roads. <br />The road loop at the storage and load-out area is asphalt paved. This road is an existing structure. <br />Trucks unload at the truck dump and circle a loop for the return trip to the crushing and screening <br />facilities. The road is constructed as shown on Map 8-3 and Figure 2.0~-3. <br />There are hvo entrances to the loadout azea. They are the scale and truck dump entrance. During <br />2000 the truck dump entrance will be closed and all incoming traffic will flow through the scale <br />entrance.
