batch plant and the needed stockpiles of material and equipment to operate the
business we will be removing all topsoil and overburden from both the west and
east halves of the permitted area. However, no mining will take place on the east
one-half of the area during Phase I-A. This area will only be stripped and used for
the asphalt batch plant, material stockpiles and storage. Once the mining has
depleted all the materials from Phase I-A at a depth of 20' we will then move our
mining to the east into Phase 1-B. Phase I-B will consist of 7.5 acres. Should an
asphalt plant be operational at that time it will be necessary for them to move to the
west and relocate the batch plant and stockpiles. Once Phase I-B has been
completed we will then move the Phase II Phase II will consist of 15 acres.
Mining would begin back at the west side of the area and proceed mining in the
same manner as before with an additional 20' in depth or three feet above ground
water, whichever is less.
e. Proposed mining will begin in the spring of 2010 and is estimated to
continue for 15+ years . Depending on the demand for product it is estimated that
approximately 1 acre per year would be mined after the initial year which we
project to mine approximately 5 acres. The beginning elevation of the pit is
approximately 8150 and mining will take place in three stages to reach the final
elevation projected which is 8110. The first stage will begin in Phase I-A and go
to a depth of 8130. Once the entire portion of Phase I-A has been mined to that
elevation Phase 1-13 will proceed to the same elevation. Upon completion of
mining in Phases I- A and I-B the last Phase II will lower the elevation of the entire
area to approximately 8110. Once all stockpiles of material are depleted in Phase
I-A and I-B and the mining and stockpiling has progressed to Phase II those areas
of the pit that can be reclaimed will be.
PHASE I Mining Stripped
Year Elevation Disturbed
Acres Disturbed
Acres Reclaimed Acres
I-A
2010 8150 5.0 10.0
2011 8130 6.5 8.5
2012 8130 7.5 7.5

Revised 02/04/10
