Martin <br />Executive Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 4, 2010, an application to revise coal <br />mining operations at the Northfield Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was <br />submitted by Northfield Partners, LLC. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the <br />Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to shift the portal location 450 feet to the North and proposes to add a second ventilation <br />shaft. These changes do not add additional disturbed area. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 3 miles South of Canon City. The permit <br />area is further described as follows: Portions of Sections 11, 12, 13, 14, 22, 23, 24, Township 19 South, Range 70 <br />West, 6th PM. The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Canon <br />City. <br />No changes to the reclamation plan, including the fish and wildlife plan or potential impacts to threatened or <br />endangered species, are proposed.
