III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was an aerial inspection of the McClane Canyon Mine conducted by Harry Ranney of the
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS). Aerial photographs were taken on
January 29, 2010 at approximately 11:59 AM. Six photographs were available for review. The
DRMS experienced camera difficulties during this aerial inspection. All of the photographs are
overexposed and several are out of focus. -However, there were enough useable photos to prepare
an aerial inspection report. Weather conditions appeared to be clear and sunny at the time of the
flight and the site was heavily snow covered.
Mike Boulay of the DRMS reviewed the aerial photographs. The haul road, portal area,
temporary waste pile, sediment pond, and office location were visible in the photographs. There
was very little activity discernible in the photographs. The portion of the mine site haul road
visible in the photograph was plowed and dry, and appeared to be well maintained and in good
condition.
The portal facilities area and a portion of the haul road are shown in the attached photograph. All
site locations visible in the photograph appeared stable and no significant erosion or other
problems were identified with this aerial inspection.
r
0

.'7i ` M1ti ?`
?
4
?

rS• 9,`.•K 9
4• Y
1
Haul Road leading to Portal Facilities Area
